Title Charissa's Journey

For God or With God

A number of years ago I heard this statement, regarding spending time with the Lord: "Sometimes ministers are most guilty of not spending time with the Lord, because they get so caught up in working for God that they forget to spend time with Him.For God or With God, Part Two It’s true, but far too easy to think that it couldnFor God or With God, Part Twot happen to you … until it does.

A number of years ago I heard this statement, regarding spending time with the Lord: For God or With God, Part TwoSometimes ministers are most guilty of not spending time with the Lord, because they get so caught up in working for God that they forget to spend time with Him.For God or With God, Part Two ItFor God or With God, Part Twos true, but far too easy to think that it couldnFor God or With God, Part Twot happen to you … until it does.

I put an addition on my house. It was going okay for a while, and then it stopped really going okay, and then it became the source of enormous frustration and even anger for me. Then I started to even feel a little bitter about it, and realized it was becoming just as bad of an experience as everyone IFor God or With God, Part Twod ever talked to had said it would be, and that I would never want to build again, and I would never be able to recommend it to anyone else. From time to time an For God or With God, Part TwooutsiderFor God or With God, Part Two would say, For God or With God, Part TwoOh, boy, this will be great when itFor God or With God, Part Twos finished,For God or With God, Part Two and I would verbally agree, while internally doubting it would ever be finished.

The situation wasnFor God or With God, Part Twot pretty, nor was my attitude.

Then I came home from a brief vacation, and my computer crashed, and I was forced to get a new one, and nothing worked like I was accustomed to it working, and nothing was the way I was accustomed to it being, and I had to uninstall and reinstall programs, and I was left without programs I was accustomed to, because I didnFor God or With God, Part Twot have the discs to install them. Then I got the brilliant idea to upgrade my entire system, and have a host computer and third workstation, and get some new software, and while I do believe it was an inspired idea (just like the building of my addition was) I met a brick wall every time I turned around.

The computer shop I was dealing with wasnFor God or With God, Part Twot nearly as on the ball as they said theyFor God or With God, Part Twod be; nothing was being addressed with any type of promptness. They told me my computer would be taken care of first thing in the morning, and I didnFor God or With God, Part Twot get it back until the afternoon. Frustration on every side. Nothing was working. I spent one of the most miserable days of my entire life, sobbing my guts out, until I figuratively threw up my hands in despair, and quit.

So here it is, very early in the morning, and IFor God or With God, Part Twom realizing this isnFor God or With God, Part Twot about what the Lord did or didnFor God or With God, Part Twot lead me to do. This is about priorities. It doesnFor God or With God, Part Twot matter so much how I set up the rest of my day, as long as the Lord has first dibs on everything—because I need it. I need to be loved, and if I donFor God or With God, Part Twot take the time to let Him love me, it gets ugly.

I canFor God or With God, Part Twot blame this on my addition. I canFor God or With God, Part Twot badmouth computers. This is all about one question.

Will I work for God, or spend time with Him?
