Title Charissa's Journey

And As I Slept, I Dreamed A Dream

It was, of course, every bit as bizarre as dreams almost always are. While my brain ingeniously resolved every issue that arose-immediately, no less-it had people making decisions that no one would make-outside of a dream.

I was returning by air from some unidentified destination. I cannot recall how it was that some of the passengers were able to disembark, although I'm pretty sure it happened at the Ohio route 83 overpass of Interstate 90. That part remains foggy in my memory. I am quite positive, however, that some passengers were no longer on board when the pilot announced that we had two options: we could continue to circle Cleveland, or we could take a quick jaunt to Toledo and back. The fact that he decided on the jaunt to Toledo is just more evidence that it was only a dream. Since we (somehow) were starting out there at I-90, he apparently decided to amuse himself by (quite impossibly) flying under the various overpasses along I-90, as well as a variety of power lines. When I turned on my little light, to attract a stewardess, and asked her about this rather dangerous situation, she informed me that he didn't have clearance to fly along this route at regular heights, and there was some other reason, as well, which I cannot remember. At any rate, she agreed to take my message to him, asking him to please fly us at normal flying heights, as his current path seemed pretty dangerous.

It appeared that he was going to do that-I'm pretty sure we were flying higher-and then there was a high overpass that he must have been unable to resist. Although I was flying in the plane, I was somehow able to see it as though from a distance, and informed my fellow passengers that, while this particular overpass did indeed cause damage to the plane, it was only by the grace of God that we hadn't all been killed. Meanwhile, the pilot landed and pulled over to the side of the highway, because we were, indeed, too damaged to continue.

Now what to do? No worries! Immediately after we pulled over, a support vehicle for United Airlines (I hadn't previously been aware that I was flying United, as far as I know) pulled over in front of us. It had the appearance of a baggage cart, but instead of having a small baggage bed on the back half of the cart, it had a huge bed, filled with perhaps a dozen rows of six or seven seats. It had just as little chance of having fit on the highway as our airplane. All the passengers now had a way to reach the airport!

I thought, where else but in a dream would such crazy problems have such instant solutions?

The answer is: in real life.

No, we aren't God's dream, but He has a solution for every eventuality, before we even know we've got a problem
